White Nail Polish
Nail varnish comes in an assortment of colors, and the onus is on the wearer to choose a shade which compliments her taste, the occasion and the designated outfit. Some opt to use white nail polish on their finger nails, their toe nails, or on both, as the case maybe.
White nail polish is frequently used in a French manicure. A French manicure is where the body of the nail is made to look as natural as possible by applying a lacquer that comes in a sheer shade with a pale pink or beige undertone; whilst the tips of the nails are given an even coat of white nail polish.
White nail polish is a trendy alternative to more traditional hues such as pink, red and light brown. Its popularity is heightened by the fact that many celebrities (amongst who are Eva Longoria, Lady Gaga, Natasha Bedingfield and Gwen Stefani, to name but a few), opt to wear white nail polish, frequently, to red carpet events.
The popularity of white nail polish is largely due to the fact that it gives nails a clean, fresh look. It is also easy to match white nail varnish with an array of accessories or with outfits in varied tones, thus making it a “must-have” for the fashion conscious and the busy, always-on-the-go woman of today.
Some opt to use white nail varnish to create attractive designs, which are now, commonly referred to as “nail art”. White dots, swirls and lines are used together with other shades of nail varnish, to achieve an array of eye-catching designs.
Some beauticians seem to be of the opinion that white nail polish is best suited to those with blonde hair or to those who possess a tanned, golden complexion. This is because white nail polish is said to set off such attributes to its best advantage.
When a person chooses to wear white nail polish, it is imperative that they keep in mind, a few, time-tested tips. Namely, white nail polish does not have the ability to camouflage defects that its darker shade counterparts can, and so the onus is on the wearer to ensure that her nails are clean and filed to perfection, prior to the application of white nail lacquer.
Whoever thought that white can only be classified as white, could not be farther from the truth, especially not in the world of lacquered nails. For example, white nail polish can come in matt shades, in shimmering hues, bright white or even in snowy tones. The shades are only limited by one’s imagination as many a savvy cosmetic sales-person has come to realize.
White nail polish made its mark on the fashion world, a few years ago. However, its popularity has not diminished yet, and judging by the trends set thus far, white nail varnish looks as if it is indeed, here to stay; for a while longer, at least.
